Listing Distribution Automation

  • Python
  • TypeScript
  • PostgreSQL
  • Docker

Listings were published by hand to a long list of portals, each with a different format, media requirement and update rule. Errors surfaced as missing or stale adverts, and nobody could say with confidence where a given property was currently live.

A distribution pipeline built on official portal feeds and partner APIs, a normalised internal listing model, and a small desktop agent for the offline media and legacy office systems that had no network interface.

The agency could add portals without adding headcount, and account managers could answer 'where is this listing live right now' without checking each site by hand.

  1. 01Portal-by-portal review of official feed specifications and partner API terms
  2. 02Canonical listing model with per-portal transformation and validation
  3. 03Desktop agent for offices with local media libraries and no API access
  4. 04Self-update channel for the agent so field machines stay current
  5. 05Delivery status per portal surfaced in a single operations view

Official interfaces only

Every portal in scope was integrated through its published feed specification or a partner API agreement. Where no interface existed, the portal stayed manual and was flagged as such — automating around a site’s terms would have put the client’s accounts at risk.
